PostSubject: Hello from Nicolaus, CA.   Sun 27 Mar - 11:54

Hi guys and girls. My name is Ricky. I moved here from South Carolina a little over a week ago. I'm 21 years old and the proud owner of a 66 Schwinn stingray Fastback and a 68 Columbia Longboy. Y'all may have seen my ad on Craigslist, but I have a club of my own that was started by a friend and I, back in south Carolina. The name is Rusty Spokes Classic bicycle club. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself real fast. Any questions for me, just ask.

Nope, I'm not on Rat Rod Bikes. None of our members are, to my knoledge. If i'm not doing anything, and if money is ok, I'll roll out to see whats up. Are old bikes alowed? I would bring my 1968 Columbia Longboy 5 speed muscle bike. Its my favorite. I am into cruisers and custom bikes (I have one in S.C. made out of an old Huffy Porkchopper), but muscle bikes and the like are more my type. But I have always been a fan of choppers. The stance and look a chopper has is unlike anything else out there. I'll post up a some photos soon of my two muscle bikes, and my Porkchopper. Its nothing much...but those Skyway mags look nasty when rolling. And thank you for wishing me luck. I hope m club catches on. Only other member I have on my forum (which is still being born, so to speak), is the founder of the club, who lives in Sout Carolina. But anyway, yeah. I'll roll out if my money is still straight. I'm unemployeed still, so I'm strapped a bit.

Depending, I might be running my '70 Stingray that I'm in the process of getting finished. Right now I have to extend the threads on the head tube and cut it down to fit (was originally a Fair Lady fork). It's also bare steel right now until I can get my plans through on coloring for that one. If it works, it's going to be like nothing anyone has done before.

Oh yeah, I also gotta recover that flowery banana seat that's on there. flower

Don't need it too girly huh Martian? I found a fair lady on Craigslist for 150. It was nice. I'd love to have it in my collection. Oh well. Maybe when I get a job. I have. Fastback. Now I want the girls version on of the stingray. Can't wait to see it bro.

This one was bought in pieces. I picked up a 1970 boys frame and fork for $25 (unfortunately the forks were a bit tweaked). Then I picked up 1972 yellow Fair Lady with a Sturmey 3 speed for $80. The chrome wasn't in the best of shape though and some had been painted silver.

Ahh but the best part is cleaning the parts and whatever else up. Then you can sit back and admire your work. I didn't know Schwinn made a Fairlady with a three speed in the back. That's pretty while. All I've seen are singles. Good process though for what you got.

Neat. I never knew that. I'm always interested in learning about the history of a bicycle and their companies.

Will do. I'm a bit of a history Biff in general. Pawn Stars and American pickers are my favorite shows. I usually don't watch TV unless they are on.
