I picked this up tonight after a few hours in the car. Everything there for $25.

Serial looks like BF01177 which puts it at Feb 1970. Kind of odd since the Schwinn codes show 1970 having the serial number on the head tube, not the rear drop out.

Very kool man. I think it's earlier. You can clean that chrome up with 00 or 000 steel wool. I just sold a set of apes at mikes swap that would have worked on there perfectly! Sorry man.

The original paint under looks like it might be green metallic. Unfortunately, it's pretty far gone. I've got some plans for the paint, or lack there of, for this. Media blast it down to bare steel, sand up through to 300 grit, back it out at 500 degrees for a while (so the steel starts turning colors/blues/purples) and then rattle can a satin clear coat over that. Should look interesting if it blues nicely. I've seen steel auto wheels "marble" really nicely with color fades.

If the chrome doesn't come back (kick stand and crank are toast) it will get powdercoated gloss black (or maybe some pearl white Suspect ) Depending on that, will determine the banana seat color.

I picked up the rest of the parts that I'm going to need to put this thing together. It's an Oct. 1972 Fair Lady (Deluxe?). Looks to be all original and is only missing the 3 speed cable and shifter (I'm going to need that if anyone happens to have an extra).

Sturmey Archer 3 speed rear, freewheel on S-7's. Gripper slick in the rear and a slightly more weathered front Typhoon(?) tire. Front and rear hand brakes and a weathered flower seat Cool

All of the silver parts will be powdercoated pearl white and the frame and chainguard will be taken to bare steel and baked out to discolor it. Then clear with rattle can satin. I will be recovering the seat in an unknown, as of now, material.
